Gem Center USA has been supplying retailers, rock shops, science centers, and gift stores with wholesale crystals, geodes, and gemstone products since 1962 — over six decades of earth science expertise from our family to yours.
Our Story
Gem Center USA Inc. was founded in El Paso, Texas in 1962 as a family business with a simple mission: connect retailers with the finest geological treasures from Mexico and beyond. What started as a small regional operation has grown into one of the most trusted wholesale mineral suppliers in the United States — while remaining 100% family owned and operated.
Our location in El Paso gives us a unique advantage. Situated on the US-Mexico border, we have direct access to some of the world's richest mineral-producing regions in Chihuahua and other Mexican states. This proximity means shorter supply chains, fresher product, and better prices for our wholesale customers.
The Las Choyas Geode Mine
The Las Choyas Geode Mine, located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. We own and operate this mine directly, which makes Gem Center USA one of the very few wholesale suppliers in the world with a direct mine-to-retailer supply chain for break-open geodes.
The Las Choyas "Coconut Geode" is famous among geode enthusiasts worldwide. These geodes are named for their coconut-like exterior and are prized for their exceptional hollow rate — we guarantee 95% hollow — and their brilliant quartz crystal interiors. When your customers crack one open, they're experiencing something pulled directly from our mine.
Owning our mine means we control quality at the source. We select the geodes, we set the standards, and we stand behind every case we ship. No middlemen, no mystery sourcing — just direct access to one of Mexico's finest geode deposits.

Who We Sell To
Gem Center USA is a wholesale supplier. Our customers include rock and mineral shops, gift stores, museum gift shops, science and nature centers, toy stores, spiritual and metaphysical shops, lapidary studios, and online retailers. If you're buying for resale, we're built for you.
Our minimum wholesale order is $80, and we offer free shipping within the continental USA on orders over $249. We also have an in-house gemologist on staff to verify material authenticity and answer product questions.
Our Sourcing Philosophy
We source from reputable miners and suppliers across Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, Uruguay, and beyond. We're transparent about our materials: not all crystals and minerals are certified as 100% naturally occurring, as some may be color enhanced or treated. We always encourage customers to ask our team about specific materials before ordering. Honesty about what you're selling is good business — for us and for you.
